The Sanskrit College and University
This is one of the oldest teaching institutions in India. It is a small, specialized humanities and social science university. It awards both undergraduate and post graduate degrees. The first degrees were awarded in 1857. The first principal of this institution was one of the greatest Indian Sanskrit scholar, educationist and grammarian Iswarchandra. He was given the title Vidyasagar or ocean of knowledge. This university is an excellent mix of heritage and cutting edge knowledge.
