Organizer: PATRIR in partnership with the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Dates: 27 October 2017
Location: Bucharest , European Public Space
This Roundtable on mapping professional capacities for peace training and preparation of military, state and civilian capacities for peacebuilding, peacekeeping and peace support operations was the first of its kind nationally in Romania. The Bucharest Roundtable held at the European Public Space brought together a group of 17 leading state and civilian capacities, including diplomatic, military, gendarmerie, academic and civilian, involved in the preparation, training and deployment of capabilities for peacebuilding, prevention, peacekeeping and peace support operations.
The event represented also a chance to look forward into the possibilities that Romania has in the upcoming Presidency and through the development of a (Civil) Peace Service focusing on the development of practical strategies and options for strengthening capacity building and deployment capabilities and Romania’s participation and presence in EU peacebuilding, prevention and peace support missions.
