Digital Peacebuilding (virtual course)
Digital technology brings opportunities and challenges to peacebuilding. Peacebuilders can leverage digital tools and spaces in their work but it’s also important to understand how technology impacts conflict. This course aims to raise peacebuilders’ understanding of the range of possibilities that exist in the field, and to encourage increased engagement with this increasingly essential part of the peacebuilding landscape. Participants learn how to assess what digital technology could be useful in their work. They learn about digital conflict drivers and how digital technologies are part of conflict contexts. They discuss policy recommendations and learn about what is coming next in this evolving field. This course emphasizes applied learning. Working on case studies from several regions and contexts, participants conceptualize and receive feedback on digital peacebuilding concepts.
